Niagara Falls Arts and Culture Wall of Fame
Some images from Thursday night- Me getting inducted into the Niagara Falls Arts and Culture Wall of Fame-Charles John Dobbie Vandersluys, Master Photog. Cr. and lifetime resident of Niagara Falls, has family history there as far back as 1888. Know as the "Mayor of Lundy's Lane, he been a photographer for over 50 years with a successful portrait studio and wedding chapel on Lundy's Lane. His journey began with the St Catharines Camera Club and evolved as a member of the Professional Photographers of America where he earned a Masters and Craftsman degree.
Charles and his wife Jacqueline are the only photographers in Niagara to hold this degree, and is the first and only Canadian to be elected President of the Professional Photographers of Buffalo Niagara. Charles has photographed Justin and Margaret Trudeau, Christopher Lyoyd, Nik Wallenda, and Jay Cochrane. He's won numerous awards, including three-time International Day Photographer of the year. He is also represented by the Lupine Art Gallery, Maine.
Thanks so much to every one, especially my family, friends, and of course Jacqueline. Plus Wayne Gates for coming all the way from down Toronto be there. Plus Congrats to Raimondo & Associates, Mr Madden who taught me at NFCVI, and to Kurt Swinghammer.
